    The Yalta Conference
    The US, UK and the USSR met to discuss the post war reorganization of Germany and Europe. They came to the conclusion that that Germany would be split into four military zones.
  • The Potsdam Conference

    The Potsdam Conference
    At this conference the US, UK, and USSR came to agree on the German economy and the punishment for war crimes. By the end of this conference the USSR believed that the US and UK were conspiring against them.
  • Winston Churchill's Iron Curtain Speech

    Winston Churchill's Iron Curtain Speech
    This speech was given in the US by Winston Churchill saying that the UK were cutting all ties with the USSR to try and keep Communism from spreading.
  • The Truman Doctrine

    The Truman Doctrine
    This was President Truman asking The US congress for 400 million dollars in military and economic assistance for turkey and Greece. This was the base for the American foreign policy and NATO.
  • The Berlin Airlift

    The Berlin Airlift
    The USSR blocked all supplies from entering Berlin via train, road, or canal. So the allies starting sending supplies via air.
  • The Warsaw Pact

    The Warsaw Pact
    This was a pact between the USSR, Albania, Poland, Romania, Hungary, E. Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Bulgaria that opposed NATO. It was believed to be the USSR trying to keep a hold on military control.
