    The Atlantic Conference
    The Alantic Conference was held on 14th August 1941 in Newfoundland. This was to discuss the terms and conditions of WW2. However, the Soviet Union (Russia) was not invited to attend and this would have made Russia annoyed.

    The Yalta Conference
    The Yalta conference was a conference to discuss war torn Europe. In the end they agreed that; Berlin would be divided into three and Germany into four. They also agreed that Germany would be demilitarized and have to pay for reparation.
  • VE Day

    VE Day
    There was victory in Europe because Germany gave unconditional surrender in Berlin. This was a time for rejoicing and happyness because they had defeated the Nazi war machine and the war was over.
  • The Potsdam Conference

    The Potsdam Conference
    Truman is the president of America.
    The United Kingdom, the Repubic of China and the United States told the Japenese to surrender with the influence of "prompt and utter destuction", but the Japenese ignored.
  • Atomic Bomb

    Atomic Bomb
    The United States of America launched two nuclear bombs. One over Hiroshima and the other over Nagasaki. The Bomb that was dropped over Hiroshima was called Little Boy and the bomb that was dropped over Nagasaki was call Fat Man. Americas president at the time was Truman so he authorised the dropping of the bombs. Russia delcared war on Japan.

    WW2 Officially Ends
    After the two bombs hit, Japan was facing total destruction. Emporor Hirohito sent out a radio broardcast to announce that Japan surrendered. So, Germany and Japan both surrendered which brought the war to an end.

    Winston Churchill goes to America to deliver the Iron Curtarin Speech. In his speech he says that Europe has been split into a communist and a democratic section.
  • Berlin Wall Built

    Berlin Wall Built
    The Berlin wall completely seperated the East from the West side of Berlin and completely surrounded West Berlin. It was constucted by East Germany to keep the East citizens from fleeing to the west. The wall was a symbolic boundry to keep the separation between democracy (West) and communisuim (East).

    Berlin Wall Falls
    Whilst the wall was still standing there were man protesters from both sides, wanting the wall gone. Once the news had gone out that the wall had fallen down many people went and checked. Then there was celebrations from both sides of the border.

    End of the Soviet Union/ End of the Cold War
    Mikhail Gorbachev was the last general secretary of the Soviet Union and he brought about massive political, social and ecconomical changes. These changes brought an end to the Soviet Union and helped bring an end to the Cold War.
