Berlin Blockade
The Soviet Union blocked the Western Allies railway, roads and canal access. The aim of this was to force the Western Allies to allow for the Soviet Union to take full controll of Berlin, as there was no way for democratic Berlin to get supplies. In response the Western Allies organised the Berlin airlift to carry supplies to the people in Western Berlin. This force flew over 200 thousand flight in on year providing up to 4700 tons of daily necessities such as food and fuel. -
Korean War
The North Koreans launched a surprise attack against the south and the capital Seoul fell in just 3 days. -
Cuba Missile Crisis
The Cuban missile crisis—known as the October crisis in Cuba and the Caribbean crisis (Russian: Kарибский кризис) in the USSR—was a 13-day confrontation between the Soviet Union and Cuba on one side and the United States on the other; the crisis occurred in October 1962, during the Cold War. In August 1962, after some unsuccessful operations by the US to overthrow the Cuban regime (Bay of Pigs, Operation Mongoose). -
Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was a Cold War-era military conflict that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955[A 1] to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. This war followed the First Indochina War and was fought between North Vietnam, supported by its communist allies, and the government of South Vietnam, supported by the United States and other anti-communist countries. -
Soviet War In Afghanistan
The Soviet war in Afghanistan was a nine-year war during the Cold War fought by the Soviet Army and the Marxist-Leninist government of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan[17] against the Afghan Mujahideen guerrilla movement and foreign "Arab–Afghan" volunteers. The mujahideen received wide military and financial support from Pakistan. -
Fall Od The Berlin War
The date on which the Wall fell is considered to have been 9 November 1989 but the Wall in its entirety was not torn down immediately. Starting that evening and in the days and weeks that followed, people came to the wall with sledgehammers or otherwise hammers and chisels to chip off souvenirs, demolishing lengthy parts of it in the process and creating several unofficial border crossings. These people were nicknamed "Mauerspechte" (wall woodpeckers).
