In November of 1860, South Carolina called an ordiance of the people. (called everybody of South Carolina together) In hopes to leave the union. -
THE CIVIIL WAR BEGINS
On April 12 1861 the Civil War began at Fort Sumter. Confederate genereal Beauregard opened fire on the Union. -
UNION BLOCKADE OF CHARLESTON
confederates take over and attack the union and take back by taking over Fort Sumter. -
ROBERT SMALLS
Robert Smalls was an African American who fought for his freedom and his country during the Civil War. As the pilot of a steamboat the Planter, Robert Small took the steamboat across lines and told the union important information about the confderates. -
THE HUNLEY
The Hunley was a submarine created to be an underwater advantage anf used for attack. -
GENERAL WILLIAM T. SHERMANS MARCH
General Sherman marched through Georgia from Atlanta to Savannah and took control of Atlanta, a major railroad hub but also Savannah, a major sea port.
