    This battle was the first battle in the Civil War. It took place in South Carolina April 12-14, 1861. Beauregard, in command of the confederency troops ordered Jackson, in command of the Union troops, to surrender, but Jackson refused. The confederency then opened fire upon Fort Sumpter and Jackson surrended.
