    In January of 1861, Abe Lincoln was elected persident of the U.S.A. The legistatures called a convection. The secession of South Carolina was also followed by a few other states.Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Then after, they formed the Conferatacy!

    At the convection in Montgomery,Alabama, the seceding states formed a Confederate Constitution. Jefferson Davis was named provisional president of the Confederacy till an election could be held.

    When Abe took his Inaugural Speech, he said he wasnt going to stop slavery where it started, he wasnt going to let it spread all over to the new states.
  • The Seven Days' Battles.

    The Seven Days' Battles.
    From june 26 to july 2nd, fought many cities. june 26-27 (Mechanicsville),on the 27 (Gaines's Mill). then on the 29, was Savage's Station,on the 30th was Frayser's Farm. July 1, Malvern Hill on the last day, the Confederates withdrew to Richmond, ending the Peninsular Campaign.

    When the E.P. was written,people thought that it was the end of slavery....but it wasn't. It basiclly said that all the slaves in the union, were free.

    When this fight started, it lasted till April 1865. General Benjamin F. Butler was winnig until May 11, he missed his oppertunity to capture the railroad center.

    When Abe Lincoln's term was over, he went for his 2nd term.He didnt get the presidency. The party picked George B. McClellan for president. Vice pres was George Pendleton.

    Since Abe died, alot of things ended and the pres. chaged some things. The rest of the troops of the Conferedate states were defeated. Davis was captured in Georgia on May 10th.
