Fort Sumter had a blockade surrounding it made by the Confederate.They deprived them of food water and supplies. Soon, when the Confederate thought they were out of materials, the ambushed them . This began the Civil War.

March To The Sea

In the beggining of Septemeber ,Sherman captured Georgia.Sheran had to have 1,000's od soldiers to protect the railroads and the rivers. After abraham lincoln won the re-election Sherman ordered 2.500 wagons of supplies and doctors checked the soldiers for illnesses and if they were not fit to fight they were sent home.

Lee Surrenders to Grant

There were alot of reasons why Lee surrendered to Grant.While Grant's was loosing soldiers, he could replace them.Lee couldn't. The Confederate states were running out of soldiers and supplies.Lee was outnumbered and Grant was encircling him and soon, he surrendered.
