this battle took place in Tennessee. It was a head on battle with many attacks by both sides. the Union ended up with the win and hanged the pace a little bit. -
Battle of 2nd Manassas
Took place in Virginia. a battle that took place in the same place as Manassas did. The battle lasted for several hours. The confederacy came up behind the Uion and suprised them while thier backs were turned. the confederacy came out with the victory. -
Batlle of Antietam
North attacked south’s army at dawn. It was the single bloodiest day in civil war history. There was no real victory although north claims it as a victory because the south retreated over the Potomac river. -
Battle of Stones River
This battle took place in Tennessee. the Union had followed Confederacy back to their winter camp. they then attacked durring the night and the bettle lasted for 3 days. the UNion came out of the battle with a victory! -
Battle of Chancellorsville
The battle took place in Virginia. This was a strong battle by both sides. There were many casulities. Although, the south won this battle but lost won of their strongest generals, General Stonwall Jackson. -
Battle of Gettysburg
The battle took place in Pennsylvania. A three day long battle. General Lee of the south marched to attack the north. It was a backfire and the north ended up with a victory and there were many harmed or killed. Lee admitted that the loss was hid fault. The battle was a major turming point in the war. -
Battle of Chickamauga
The battle took place in Georgia. Neither side knew where they other side was. It was like a big serch in the woods. They eventually found eachother and confederacy came out with the victory. -
Battle in the Wilderness
Took place in Virginia. It was twards the end of the war and the union did not thing that the confederacy could hold out for another battle. but they were wrong and there was no real victory.
