While preparing to address the Organization of Afro-American Unity in Manhattan's Audubon Ballroom, a man in the 400 person crowd yelled "Nigger! Get your hand outta my pocket!" As security responded, a man ran up and popped him in the chest with a double barrel sawed off shotgun. -
Bloody sunday
A near 600 strong protest group marched across Edmund Pettus Bridge where they met a wall of police and were attacked with nightsticks and tear gas after they tried to come to terms with the state troopers. -
