    The French and Indian War
    In 1750's a argument between France and Britain in North America over the Ohio River Valley. The French had early victories, The British win the seven year War and make the proclamation of 1763.

    The Proclamation of 1763
    Following the French and Indian War, the British establish a border to separate the Colonists from the unhappy Natives. In the newly won western territory the Appalachian Mountains, can not be settled outside of the Mountains. The British were trying not to start another war because they can afford.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    A three cent tax was put on sugar which increased the existing tax on coffee and indigo etc. The big reason for the Sugar Act was so England can pay off the debt from the French and Indian War.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act allowed the British government to send lots of troops over to the Colonies, to pay for the troops the Stamp Act was passed. The things that were stamped were court papers,almanacs, pamphlets, newspapers and playing cards. Colonists also had to pay for upkeep.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    This act is to raise even more money and to reinforce that England has power over the Colonies. Taxed things were tea, paper, glass and paint. this act was stopped because the Colonists were to violent.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was started from lots of British soldiers being placed in the colonies which made colonists very angry. It really started when a group of colonists confronted eight British soldiers and yelled at them to shoot them. Then a British soldier got hit by a snowball then possibly shot by mistake. The rest shot in self-defense smoke cleared and five Colonists lay dead.

    The goal of it was so the Colonists can share information about the issues faced in the developing crisis in England. the leader of the Committees of Correspondence was Samuel Adams. This whole thing was made so the Colonies can form bonds.
  • The Tea Act/The Boston Tea Party

    This act was not made so England can raise even more money it was so the West India Company. The reason is because it was losing money from lack of 18 million lbs. of unsold tea. Most places ether left it to rot or sent it back to England. At Boston harbor 60 Colonists dressed as Mohawk Indians and 342 crates of tea into the harbor
  • Coercive (Intolerable) Acts

    Coercive (Intolerable) Acts
    Boston harbor closed, sailors and dockworkers lost their jobs. Stores closed and if British soldiers were found with a death on there hands they will be sent to England for trial. Colonists had to house and feed British Troops even with lack of food around. Finally Colonists own government was taken over by a British governor.
  • The First Continental Congress

    People at the Congress were George Washington, John Adams, Patrick Henry, John Jay, Samuel Adams and many more. They discussed and said that they are still loyal to the King, but being unfair with tax. They were planing to Boycott items if the Intolerable Acts were not stopped and stop exporting goods.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    60 militia men lined up to the hundreds of British soldiers, African Americans also teamed up with the Colonists. At the battle no-one knows who fired the first shoot. Afterwards 10 Colonists were dead and 8 wounded. Then the British troops marched 20 miles to Concord but the Colonists were forewarned of the British troops and hid all of the guns and ammo. Then over 1000 militia men caught them with their guard down and over powered them.
