The war was for who could control of the Ohio River. The war lasted for seven years and the British were defeated twice. -
Proclamation of 1763
So the Proclamation of 1763 was part of a long list of events in which the intent and actions of one side were misunderstood or disregarded by the other. Even though they had control of the Ohio Valley, the British tried to keep American colonists from settling in it. The reason the proclamation of 1763 was issued was to declare the boundaries of settlement for inhabitants of the 13 colonies to be Appalachia. -
Stamp Act
The stamp act was the first direct tax on the American colonies. Newspapers, dices, playing cards, and more had to bear proof of tax payment. American activists sprang into action and the Sons and Daughters of Liberty did not hesitate to harass tax collectors. -
Tea Act
The taxing still continued which angered more colonist. The Rhode Islanders eventually burnt a ship called Gaspee. -

Bostonians dumped 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor -
Intolerable Acts
A lot of stuff happened to Boston after the Boston Tea Party. The harbor was closed to trade, town meetings were banned, and the authority of the royal governor was increased. -
