The Increase In Californian Citizens
At the beginning of this period, California's population started to rise after Americans started to immigrate over there. The population was mainly Native Americans and Mexicans, but there were some level of foreigners (Americans) who did live there. -
Gold Is Found
After the Americans start mining and creating jobs in those areas, they eventually find gold, and when they do they eventually tell the rest of the US and after this news is launched, people start going to California in order to enrich themselves. California soon becomes a territory to the US as a way of keeping this gold to the American government. -
San Francisco Becomes a Hot Spot
When the people of other cities have heard that San Francisco has found a lot of gold many Americans, especially men, have moved to San Francisco to mine for gold and become rich and move up the social latter. -
California Becomes A State
In 1850 California is taken into the US as a new state, and since it had the gold rush becoming its number source of income, many people didn't find it necessary to make it slave state due to the number of rich individuals in that state. -
The Chinese Immigration to America
A troubling drought and failure to grow crops in China begin to occur. During this time, the Chinese start to move to San Francisco to achieve the American dream and enrich themselves from mining gold in California. Although they are welcomed citizenship-wise, they aren't well greeted by the people themselves, which so leads the government to tax the Chinese unfairly to make the ability of them climbing the social latter much more difficult and being discriminated against. -
The End of The California Gold Rush
Three years after making unfair and unjust changes to the nation only to bring minorities down, the government outlaws the act of unfairly taxing the Chinese and other minorities to achieve the access of moving through the social latter. At this same time, minors have been earning less money due to the government restricting how much gold can be earned and also because the gold was beginning to diminish due to the high number of people occupying gold that was already sold, purchased, or found.
