  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was passed to revinue and reduce debt from the French and Indian war. They were aiming to stop smuggling of sugar into there colonies. The way to fix this problem was to collect more taxes and keep out the smugglers. So the Colonists set up there own taxes to pay for militias.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was passed because the colonists were complaining about the Sugar Act, so they came out with a tax that they had to pay themselves. The new Act said that all colonists were supposed to pay a tax on everything they used. For example, a printed piece of paper they used and even playing cards. Prime Minister Greenville thought that the American colonists should bare a heavier tax load.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act was passed so that the British soldiers could have shelter to protect them from the Frenchman and Native Americans. And lastly, King George III wanted to protect the colonial interests. The act was passed to enforce the Proclamation Line of 1763 and other Parliamentary Acts. Providing room and board for English regards.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    The colonists were getting unhappy with British taxation. So they wanted to stop the smuggling. Originated by Charles Townshend and passed by the English Parliament. It was designed to collect revenue from the colonists in America by putting custom duties on imports of glass, lead, paints, paper, etc. The act also said how soldiers can search through your house whenever and this made colonists very upset.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    The Tea act was passed to stop colonists from smuggling tea without a tax. Meaning nobody else can sell the tea. The parliament could help east Indian companies by granting them a monopoly on tea sales in the colonies.
  • Boston Port Act

    Boston Port Act
    Britain was beginning to loose control of the 13 colonies. The rule was nothing can be shipped from Massachusetts without being looked at by the majesty. So they couldn't share the bay and everyone was starting to get angry.

    MA Government Act an the Administration of Justice Act
    King George III realized that Britain was beginning to lose control of the 13 colonies. In result, he said no meetings shall be called without the leave of the governor.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This Quebec Act was passed to expand territory in Quebec. So now, all such territories, islands, and countries have been made part of Newfoundland have to be provide of Quebec. This impacted the British Citizens in many ways, such as there laws.
