  • Mein Kampf

    Mein Kampf
    Shortly after of Hitler's release from prison Hitler released his book "Mein Kampf" which was being written by both him and his secretary in prison. "Mein Kampf", or "My Struggle", was a book that discribed what type of physical appearance and religous beliefs were supreme race, Hitler's Aryan race. Hitler also says that the Jews are the inferior race and must be conquered, which in Hitler's opinion, is beneficial to them.
  • Jesse Owens Spectacle

    Jesse Owens Spectacle
    Jesse Owens, a african american runner, won a record eight medals on the track during the 1936 summer Olmpics located in Germany. During this time, however, the Nazis were in control of Germany and more specifically Hilter was in charge. Even though Jesse made an amazing accomplishment, hitler had refused to give him the respect because Jesse was now part of Hitler's master Aryan race.
  • Jesse Owens incident

    Night air was fresh and Rudy thought it was a great idea to reinact Jesse Owens greatness, and after covering himself in charcoal, he was ready to be like Jesse Owens. Relaying how the crowd reacted during the Olympics, Rudy runs the events throughh his mind, including running to greatness. That is until his father who is part of the Nazi socialist party found out.
  • The death of a brother

    Sometimes Death comes to soon, such as this case, when Liesel's younger brother died. They were on a train it happened, with the boy coughing, but then he stopped and Liesel realized this first. It waas all happening so quickly for the 9 almost 10-year-old girl, and next thing they knew they got off the train to bury the boy, but this is where the Book Thief struck first and stole the Gravedigger's Handbook.
  • Arrival at a new home

    Liesel arrives at her new home with incident. Everyone trys as they might, but Liesel would not move past the gate, that is until a tall man followed by the scent of tabacco tried. And Hans hubermann brought the girl into the home quietly.
  • Jewish "Camp" recruiting

    Jewish "Camp" recruiting
    Nazi soldier Adolf Eichmann started to bring the Jewish population to prisoner camps located in Poland. One by one Jews just like the stuggler, Max Vandenburg, from Austri and Czechoslavakia are deported there. This had started the killling of 6 million Jews.
  • Arrival of a Jew

    After some time of leaving, Max Vandenburg took a train to Himmel Street from his inprisonment. Upon Max's arrival, he had to get to 33 Himmel Street (Hans Hubermann's address) before anyone realized he was a jew which result in another inprisonment. Though Max was another mouth to feed and a person to keep secret, he was welcomed into the Hubermann household.
  • The Word Shaker

    The Word Shaker
    "The Word Shaker" was a short story left to liesel from Max that indirectly described how Hitler gathered his supporters by using only words. How the Fuhrer planted these words into people for his own purposes. Liesel realized that she hated words and wanted to use them for a good purpose all from this good-bye gift from a jew.
  • The Early Bird Doesn't Get Bombed

    These groups of people were in charge of sending reports of incoming bomber planes before they arrived, which allowed people to get to the bomb shelters in time by sending a "cuckoo" alarm. At times people were chosen to go into these jobs to carry the out the dead bodies. Sometimes these calls same come late and not allow time for the people the get inside a shelter fast enough.
  • Bombing of Molching

    Bombing of Molching
    The workers clear the rubble and lay the dead bodies they find on Himmel Street, but when they got to house #33 they found a girl under the debris, alive. When Liesel woke up, she realized what had happened and ran over to her fallen family members, and mourned for each, especially Hanns, who was the first person to show friendship when she arrived on that day 4 years ago. Then Liesel saw her dead friend, Rudy was laying there just like the rest, and when Liesel saw him, she kissed him.
  • End for Germany

    After the Allies had successfully captured Germany's capital, the fuhrer had comitted suicide, and the Germans had surrendered, the war has ended in Europe. There would be no more fighting in Europe and in just one more year, the war would end in the rest of the world. 11 million lives had been lost, friends would not be able to see each other again, families that would not be reunited, as Europe's end of the war would come at a great cost.
