    The Blitz was a German bombing campaign against the Britain in 1940 and 1941, during the Second World War. The Germans bombed about 2 million houses, and so families (mostly men) had to live in an underground city for eight months. Meanwhile above the ground one hundred feet in the air fire fighters were trying to put out fires. In the end 340 people were killed.
