In 1982, Lawrence Taylor changed the game. He changed the quarterback sack into a turning point in the game. A new NFL statistic was born. The new stat was if the quarterback was tackled behind the line of scrimmage while the QB tries to pass the ball. That year Taylor was the first rookie to win defensive MVP. -
Joe Theisman's career ends
The game was the New York Giants vs. the Washington Redskins. Lawrence Taylor rushes off the edge towards Joe Theisman. Taylor sacks Joe and many players pile on. Taylor gets off the pile with his hands on his head and is screaming. Everyone watching was confused until the camera returned to the pile of players. Joe has broken his leg, a career ending injury. Miraculously the Redskins still managed to win the game. -
Lawrence Taylor off the edge
The ball is snapped and everyone sees Taylor burst off the edge. Nobody could deal with Lawrence. He sacks Joe Montana. He sends the 49rs QB to the hospital. They send them home from their super bowl. -
Micheals child hood
Michael Oher is extremely large, physically imposing black youth, grew up in the projects in Memphis. He no longer lives with his drug addicted mother, but is in foster care when he isn't running away to sleep wherever else he can find. Out of circumstances including Coach Burt Cotton's belief that he would be an asset to the school's football program based solely on his size. -
Crossing the line
Tony Henderson was 6’3” 400 lbs. Tony played with Micheal Oher. He was nicknamed “Big Tony.” It was by his nateuren that he would cross the line. He couldn’t look down other wise he couldn’t see. He was a great athlete and was a great asset to his team. He was great on the defensive line. Offense lines feared him. -
The market for football players
Coach Lemming receives thousands of tapes from high school players, but one stood out from the rest, Michael Oher. He watched this tape in wonder. The player lived in Memphis Tennessee. Lemming drove to Tennessee in 2004. The player went to a Christian high school which had no history of creating D1 talent. Oher was a great football player and Lemming had to have him. -
Inventing Michael Oher
Oher spent 4 months growing accustomed to the idea that he was a football star. He attended elite summer camps. He received more that 1,000 letters from college football programs. The only team that didn’t offer him a scholarship was Penn State. Oher has all the options in the world. -

Oher has no idea who his dad is. His mother is a crack addict. Michael has no idea who his father is and his mother is a drug addict. Michael has had little formal education and few skills to help him learn. Leigh Anne soon takes charge however, as is her nature, ensuring that the young man has every opportunity to succeed. -
Oher to college
The NCAA is interviewing the Tuohy family because they believe that abducting Michael to play at Ole Miss and were boosters to the football program abd were persuading him to play at Ole Miss. Michael was working on his grades very hard especially his english grade because he needed good grades to play football in the NCAA. Mr Tuohy helped michael write his english paper to get a good grade. -
Oher in the NFL
After playing football for Ole Miss in college he was drafted in the NFL. He was picked in the first round by the Baltimore Ravens. Oher was picked 23rd overall. Oher was by far one of the best players to enter the draft. He was an elite player
