The Declaration of the Rights of a Man was a document defining the rights of all estates. These rights were influenced by the idea of 'natural rights'. This picture shows a stone where all 17 articles are written. -
Women's March in Versailles
On the morning of October 5th, women were rioting over the rising price of bread. First they demaded the National Assembly to take action, but then they turned to the king and queen. Hours later, the authority of the king ended. -

Law was passed out in July, The assembly took over the Church and the Church lost all of its land and independence in politics. -
King tries to escape
The king tried to escape from France to Austrian Netherlands, but he was recognized and forced to return. -
New Constitution
The National Assembly completed a new constitution, which Louis approved. This constitution created a limited consitutional monarchy, based on Montesquieu's ideas. -
France declares war
The Legislative Assembly declared war in April 1792 to Austria. -
National Convention takes over
In September 21st, the National Convention, which was chosen by the Legislative Assembly, took office. This replaced Louis' monarchy.
