Columbus Sails to the Americas
In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. His landing in the Caribbean was a significant event in relation to imperialism. He sailed for the Spanish throne, in attempt to grow their empire's sphere of influence. -

Forced Labor of the Natives
Spanish monarch granted the conquistadors encomiendas. Which was the allowance of slavery forced on the Natives. If any of the natives denied this forced labor they where hunted and killed. This was great for the Spanish bringing tons of riches to them. -

Bringing Workers from Africa
In trying to stop Native Americans slavery and death Bartolome de Las Casa, priests, thought that Africans were immune to tropical diseases and were already skilled in farming, mining, and metalworking. Starting the capture and slavery for Africans. -
Fur, Trapping, and Fishing
The profit for obtaining fur and fishing was more attracting then farming expectantly farming in long cold winters. This was great for the France wealth in the New France making population grow but nothing compared to the colonies. -
The Want for the Americas
All the supplies and wounder of having the Americas was great. Un-tap lands with great supplies and the could push the religion on the natives. Since the land was so great everyone wanted a piece of it. This want made many wars go in place most famous is French and Indian war but it wasn't French wanting the land. Spain and Portugal wanted the land as well. -
French and Indian War
A war fought for expanding in land. Ending in the British dominance in North America, France was forced to cede Canada. Also France had to give over the Louisiana territory to Spain.
