    The battle of Fort Sumter started when South Carolina seceeded from the Union. So when the northerners were still stationed in Fort Sumter in Charleston, SC the southerners wanted them out, so the battle begun. The southerners won, so the north held largen military recruitment campaigns to fight back. The civil war had begun.

    Bull Run/ Manassas
    The Civil War had started with the Union vs. the confederacy. The Union was planning against the Confederacy to capture Richmond, the confederacy's capital. The confederacy counter attacked the union on the river of bull run, and the union had lost the battle. After this battle the union wouldn't go after Richmond again.

    Fort Donelson
    This battle in tennessee caused 13,000 confederate soldiers to surrender to union military leader Grant, and the confederate capital of Nashville had been captured, making Grant a northern hero.
  • U.s.s. Moniter vs. C.s.s. Virginia

    U.s.s. Moniter vs. C.s.s. Virginia
    The union had realised that their wooden ships came apart to easily against the well-built confederacy ships. The Union then developed the ironclad ship known as the U.s.s. moniter. The confederacy's ship, the C.s.s. Virginia, was planning to attack the union nay, when Moniter counterattacked, and the ships whent into battle. Neither side had won in this battle, as both ships were destroyed. This then marked the end of the wooden naval vessel.
