George Frideric Handel
George Frideric Handel was born on February 23rd, 1685. In the beginning he showed great talent with music but ended up going into law. Later on he went back to music and ended up being one of the great composers of the Baroque period. Some of his major compositions include the Messiah and Music for the Royal Fireworks. Handel passed away on April 14, 1759 a little after the Baroque period ended. -
The Fairy Queen

Music for the Royal Fireworks was composed by George Frideric Handel in 1749. This massive wind band suite was composed for King George the II. It is a five movement piece that involves many instruments including twenty four oboes.
