    The Mexica settle in Tenochtitlan, starting their civilization on a swamp, knowing where to stop when they see an eagle perched on a cactus eating a snake.

    The creation of the Aztec Government

    King Acamapichtli was the first king of the Aztecs. King Acamapichtli was found by a team of people looking for a worthy king. The king had also married a woman who happened to be a Nobel, creating the first king and queen of the Aztec empire.
  • Period: 1439 to 1469

    The Military Expansion of the Aztec Empire

    King Motecuhzoma I came into power and went straight into making the military indomitable. Over the course of 30 years, he kept improving the military, and his goal came true. Surrounding countries would do whatever they requested, and would cave in and be utterly destroyed if they went against the requests of king Motecuhzoma I. The Aztec had one of the Most Powerful militaries around at the time, if not the most powerful in their continent.

    The Weakening of the Empire

    The Aztec ruler suddenly dies of smallpox, and a new, trusted ruler is put into power. The King tries to hold back the insidious Spanish, but they begin to slowly threaten and slaughter the empire.
  • 1524

    The End of the Aztec Empire

    After torture and blackmail from the Spanish, the Aztec ruler is killed and the empire folds. The Spanish continued their raid for 300 years until fully inhabiting the lands.
