The Boston Tea Party was a direct protest by colonists in Boston against the tea tax that had been imposed by the British government. Boston Patriots dressed up as Mohawk Indians, raided three British ships in Boston harbor, and dumped 342 containers of tea into the harbor.

The French and American forces trapped the British surrender ending the American Revolutionary War. -
Treaty of Paris signed
The British Crown formally recognized American independence and gave up most of its territory east of the Mississippi River to the U.S. This doubled the size of the new nation and paved the way for Westward expansion. -
3/5 Compromise
The 3/5 Compromise resolved the issue of counting slaves towards population in regards to representation in the house of Representatives. the delegates to the Constitutional Convention agreed that slaves should be counted at 3/5 of their real number.
