Quatering Act
This act required the colonists to put British soldiers up in their homes. Colonists had to provide fuel, candles, beer, and transportation for the troops. -
Townshend Acts
Indirect tax was being being imposed on glass, lead, paper and tea. -
Boston Massacre
Colonists began to harass British troops. They threw anything that they could find. As a result five colonists were killed. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonists dressed up as Indians and threw tea into the harbor as a sign of rebelling. -
Intolerable Acts
Coercive acts closed the port of Boston and imposed military rule on all of Massachusetts. -
First Continental Congress
A meeting of delegates from every state that felt the need to present their complaints to the British as a unified group. -
Lexington and Concord
Colonists joined the militia that was created by the Continental Congress, to met British soldiers. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The colonists lost to the British troop. In result to this lost, it encouraged other colonists to help in the revolutionary war. -
Battle of Sarratoga
Secured a critical French alliance that will help out the Americans. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Americans winning the signaled the end of the British ruling over the colonies. -
Treaty of Paris
It was signed by King George and representatives from the colonies. This treaty ended the American revolution.
