  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was an act of the Parliament of Great Britain that imposed a direct tax. This act imposes a stamp duty on newspapers, legal, and commercial documents. This law was passed by th British for the American Colonies. This was a cause of the American Revolution.

  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre occured on March 5, 1770. A British guard was being harassed by an American, another guard came over and struck him with a musket.This scene cause a angry mob to build up and they tried to attack the guard. More British troops appeared and had fired at unarmed citizens. They had killed 5 and injured 6.

  • The Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party VideoThe Boston Tea Party took place on December 16,1773. It was one of the causes that lead to the American Revolution. This was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston. In the process of this protest, the American Indians and others were sent to destroy an entire shipment of tea. They also loaded the ships with chests of tea and threw them into the ocean.

  • First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress met on September 5, 1774 and ended October 26, 1774. It was held at Carpenters' Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was a meeting of delegates from the 12 of 13 colonies.

  • Battle of Quebec

    The Battle of Quebec was fought on December 31, 1775. Americans were against the British defenders. It was the first major defeat of the war for Americans. 400 men were taken prisoner.

  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was created June-July of 1776, and was ratified July 4, 1776. It is a statement adopted by the Continental Congress. It annouces that the thirteen American colonies are now their own country and don't have to follow the British Empire.

  • Battle of Brooklyn/Long Island

    The Battle of Brookly/Long Island was fough on August 27, 1776. The Continental Army under General George Washington won this battle. This battle was the largest battle in the entire war.

  • Battle of Germantown

    The Battle of Germantown, Philadelphia. The British Army was led by Sir William Howe and the American army under George Washington. The British had won this battle.
