The Declaration of Independence was created June-July of 1776, and was ratified July 4, 1776. It is a statement adopted by the Continental Congress. It annouces that the thirteen American colonies are now their own country and don't have to follow the British Empire. -

The Battle of Brookly/Long Island was fough on August 27, 1776. The Continental Army under General George Washington won this battle. This battle was the largest battle in the entire war. -
Battle of Germantown
The Battle of Germantown, Philadelphia. The British Army was led by Sir William Howe and the American army under George Washington. The British had won this battle.
