It was a tax that Britians input on sugar, coffee, wines, and molasses. This made a lot of colonists mad because they were stopping them from smuggling in their products they didn't want to pay taxes on. -

A law that taxed all goods that were printed on paper. I chose this because a lot of the colonists were mad because they had to pay a tax for printing things they needed for their businesses of their daily use. -
Townshend act
This was a tax that was imposed on glass, paint, and tea. This made a lot of colonists mad because they added taxes on daily items they needed to build their house. -
Boston Massacre
Boston Massacre was an event where an army of redcoats shot at an unarmed group of protestors. This was heard all over America and Paul Revere's painting showed how redcoats were trying to take over colonies. -
Common sense
It was a book written by Thomas Paine that claimed the colonies had a right to become independent. This showed how many people were against the British and its army and how they wanted independence. -
Boston Tea party
It was an event where a group of British citizens dressed up as Indians and threw hundreds of chests of tea into the harbor of Britain. This showed how colonists were willing to boycott laws that Britain had made. -
Intolerable Acts
It was a law that was meant to punish the act of the Boston Tea Party. This made a lot of colonists mad because it showed how the British were trying to take their colony and how they wanted to punish them for their boycotting event. -
First Continental Congress
Delegates from all colonies met to discuss problems with Britain and claim independence. This shows how many people were coming together to help fight against the British and their troops. -
American Revolution
The war against American colonies and British Colonies. This was the start of the revolution and the start of the 7 years of war. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The first military engagement of the war was when British soldiers shot at a smaller body of minutemen. This was the first-ever firefight in the war. -
Continental Army
It was an army formed in 1775 by the Second Continental Congress led by George Washington. This alerted the British because it showed how they were coming together to fight against them and claim their independence. -
Crossing the Delaware
When George Washington led his troops across the Delaware River to launch a surprise attack on a Hessian troop. This could've made the British troops angrier -
Olive Branch Petition
It was an attempted peace treaty with Britain to end the war but they had to end the taxes it was rejected. This could've made the war last longer. -
Declaration of Independence
A statement where colonies declared independence against Britain. This probably made the other colonies wanna fight for their independence. -
Battle of Saratoga
It was one of the wars won by America against British troops in 1777 which was also a turning point in the war. I chose this because it could've made the British troops more eager to win the war -
guerrilla warfare
It was when George Washingtons' troops would fire at British troops and then would hide in the brush or run behind trees to avoid being seen. I chose this because this probably sparked more conflict with the British troops. -

It was a law that required people of a certain age to fight in the army. This could've helped the Americans in the war because a lot of new people were joining the war. -

It was the last major war in the American Revolution. This was the ending of the war were the British surrendered against American troops -
Treaty of Paris
This treaty said America was a free and independent country that Britain signed. This was what officially ended the war.
