Where leaders from the colonies formed the Continental Army, appointing George Washington as commander & making treaties. This was important as it was a step forward to fight for their freedom & being united. -

When the colonial militias resisted the British until eventually they were forced to retreat. This was important as they showed that they cannot be easily defeated, showing determination and being able to cause casualties to the British. -

When George Washington crossed the Delaware river to surprise attack the Hessian troops. This was an important event as it was the first major war won for the Continental army. -
Winter at Valley Forge
It was a harsh winter where the Continental Army were training and getting stronger. This was important as it made the Army very skilled thanks to Prussian Officer Baron von Steuben training them. -
Battle of Saratoga
A major American victory where the British surrendered. This is important as this victory had gained French support and involvement into the revolution. -

A French alliance was established and provided the Patriots their navy/military support. It was an important event as they were seen as an independent nation. -

When the British forces surrendered leading to the first American victory. This is important as it is what ended the American Revolutionary War. -

Where the U.S. was fighting for its freedom and decided on making an agreement with Britain to end the war .This was an important event as it showed that the U.S. gained independence, given boundaries on extent of territory, debts repaid, and slaves returned.
