  • First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress was made up of delegates, or representatives, from the colonies. It met in Philadelphia. The Congress was upset about not having representatives in British Parliament. The First Continental Congress discussed complaints they had with Britain and created a boycott of British goods. They requested participation in Parliament
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts were acts that were passed by Britain in response to the Boston Tea party. This act made Britain have control over the harbor where all trade goes through. This act made the rebels rebel against Britain and built tension between Britain and the Colonist
  • Second Continental Congress

    The Second Continental Congress happened when Britain sent Troops to siege all of colonial weapons and leaders of the rebellion. They were sent to arrest John Hancock and Samuel Adams. Britain wanted to stop all sort or rebellion with the colonies
  • Olive Branch Petition

    The Olive Branch Petition was a peace treaty that the colonies wrote with Britain. Britain Refused to sign it because they still wanted all control over the colonies. The colonies than did a rebellion against Britain
  • Common Sense

    This was a Pamphlet that Thomas Paine wrote. The Pamphlet wrote about how the King was unworthy about Americans respect. This made colonist want to get rebellious and gave Americans a reason to rebel
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The declaration of Independence was a written paper. The paper was meant for the British declaring American Independence. Britain Saw this and did not agree with it but eventually lost the colonies to the War
  • Treaty of Paris

    The treaty of Paris was a parliament that was meaning that Britain had no control over the colonies. The Americans Were now an Independent country. The Treaty was signed in France by Britain stopping the revolutionary war between Britain and the Colonies
