    After a retreat of 3 week siege British general John Burgoyne attempts to separate the rebel colonies farther south and fails. This induces France into thinking Americans have a chance of winning.

    The result of Saratoga makes France allies to the American government and provide French military and financial aid. This would give the Americans higher chance in winning the war.

    During the winter a Prussian military officer Baron Friedrich von Steuben trained the continental army further improving their unification and allowed for more discipline. This greatly improved the chances of winning the war.

    The new United States does not welcome Americans who were loyal to the British evacuating them all. The loyalists will have an effect on Canada due to their experience and some help find a new country in Africa.

    Imposing peace on members of the Iroquois Confederacy that sided with the British allows the US to push west because Native Americans are no longer allies with the British. This causes the US to expand due to no restriction of the British.
