Battle of Yorktown

Slave owners in specific states wanted to count their slaves as apart of the population. States that already abolished slavery said no because they treat slaves as property and not people. This compromise made it to where they could count their slaves as 3/5 of a person. -
Great Compromise
The great compromise proposed a bicameral legislature with proportional representation. It established two legislative bodies in congress. -
