French and Indian war
The french and Idian war was a war between the french/Indian and british/Indian fighting against part of the new world and the ohio valley. The reason for the war being started was french trying to take part of the land in the new world that britian wanted. The colonists were used as allies to the britian/Indians and fought against france. Britian won the war and made the proclamation line a way to keep a war from starting and the colonists moving west. new taxes were put in order as well. -
The sugar acts
The sugar acts were taxes on sugar and molasses. British was making these taxes to pay for the French and Indian war. The patriots didn't like the taxes put on them. The lolaylists payed the taxes fully. The britian made the declatory acts which made them able to make any laws they want. -

The Townshed acts
The townshed acts were taxes put on Glass,Lead,Paints,Paper,and Tea.The reason for these taxes were to pay for military expenses and the salaries of govenors in the 13 colonies.The patriots would boycott responding to the taxes,The woman would make cloth boycotting, The sons of liberty would attack tax collocters. The loyalists would still pay the taxes fully. Governor Frncis Bernard would ask for more troops from england to try to stop the violent acts and protests -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a killing of many patriots by British Soldiers. The cause was British soldiers protecting themselves from a riot. The patriots were shot by British soldiers. The British soldiers were blamed for killing the patriots. The loyalists were outraged over the fact of how the patriots blamed the soldiers. Britian held a trial to find out who was actually guilty. Paul Revere made an engraving that showed the british shooting a helpless crowd to convince people to become patriots -
The Boston Tea party
The boston Tea party was a protest of colonists dressed as native americans dumping tea over the ships. The cause for this event was British put a tea tax from the townshed acts onto the colonists for a lot of money. The patriots were dumping out tea dressed as Indians. Loyalists were outraged to hear the patriots dumping out Britian tea. Britian in response to this event shut down the boston harbor. -
Intolerable acts
The Intolerable acts were a lot of laws to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. The cause for this act to try to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. These acts made the colonists angry and some patriots met to try to make it better. Some loyalists started to join the patriots over these unfair acts. -

The continental congress was a group of patriots and loyalists trying to fix the actions of Britian in the Intolerable acts. The cause of this group meeting was to right the Intolerable acts. The patriots worked with some loyalists to write a message to britian to stand up for themselves. Some loyalists helped the patriots with the message and giving them their rights. Britian responded to the message by sending over more troops to the 13 colonies
