Sugar Act
The Sugar was act that British Parliament passed that stated that a tax had to be paid on any foreign molasses or sugar. This angered colonists. -

This was a law that imposed taxes on paper products. (all paper products had to be stamped.) -
Townshend Acts
These were a series of laws passed by British Parliament. These laws were punishments for not cooperating, and also to make more money for the "mother-land" England. These angered colonists even more. -
Boston Massacre
British soldiers fired their guns upon some 400 hundred colonists who were irritating the soldiers. About 5 colonints died. However, Paul Revere Made the incident seem much worse by calling it "The Boston Massacre." This was one thing that led to the Revolution. -
Tea Act
This law stated that colonists could only buy tea from the East India Company(tea company). This sparked colonists desire for a revolution even more. -
Boston Tea Party
A few colonists dressed themselves as Native Americans and climbed on board and threw tea overboard into the Boston Harbor. This led to the coercive acts. -
The Intolerable Acts
These acts were laws passed by the British Government in response to the Boston Tea Party. Some these acts include the Quartering Act, The Quebec Act, and the Boston Port Act. These acts frustrated colonists even more. -
Firts Continental Congress
At Carpenters Hall in Philadelphia, PA, 12 delegates from the 13 states met in response to the Intolerable Acts. The meetings main accomplishments was to agree to boycott the Government of Britiain by not their goods -
Decleration of RIghts
The Decleration Rights was a list of rights that the colonists felt that they should have. Also it was a list of problems they had with the British Government. These were proposed to Parliament. -
Lexington and Concord

This document attempted to avoid a full-blown war with Great Birtain. However the Petition was rejected and the colonies then declared themselves officially "rebels." -

Common Sense is a book written by Thomas Paine in 1776 that argues American Independence, society, and religion. The book motivated colonists to keep fighting for freedom, and also convinced others to join the colonists in fighting for independence from Great Britain. -
Decleration of Independence
This document was a decleration of freedom from Great Britian. This document was written mainly by Thomas Jefferson, although many others helped with ideas. This decleration formally started the Revolutionary War. -
Battle of Trenton
Not only a Patriot victory, but the Americans took over 900 British soldiers captive. With this, the colonists were no longer out manned and out gunned. -
Battle of Saratoga
Considered to be the turning point in the war, the Americans had now won three battles in a row after a victory at Saratoga. This gave the colonits even more confidence. -
British Capture Charleston
taking place in South Carolina, the battle lasted for about half a month. The British ended up winning, capturing as many as 5,000 American soldiers. -
Battle of Yorktown
In Virginia, George Washington leads his troops into battle for one last time. The Americans win, which leads to the Treaty of Independence. The war ends. -

The treaty of Paris ended the Revolutionary war between America and Great Britain. The treaty gave colonists freedom from Great Britian.
