The New Deal
The New Deal was proposed in 1933 by Franklin Roosevelt. It was a recovery from the economic collapse and the reform was mad to avoid future depressions. Reagan adds $1 trillion to the national debt
Ronald Reagan wanted to make the military the number one in the world. In 1987, the Reagan spent $282 billion on the military. Reagan borrowed $1 for every $5 he spent, increasing the national debt into the trillions. Eventually the U.S. debt was over $1.5 trillion.
