Apple Macintosh Apple Computer launches the Macintosh
Apple inventors Steve Jobs and Jef Raskin release the Apple Macintosh. It was the first successful mouse-driven computer with a graphical user interface. It sold over 250,000 units in its first year of release. -

in 1986 Steve Jobs purchased the the Special Effects Computer Group at Lucasfilm and renamed it Pixar. Pixar has been monumental in the world of computer generated animation and film. -
