Texas Revolution Timeline

  • The Battle of Gonzales

    This was the first official battle of the Texas Revolution. Without this battle, people say the Texas Revolution never would've even happened. It started as the Mexicans gave gave the people of Gonzales a cannon but soon asked for it back because of political issues in Mexico. When the Texas refused, this caused revolt and they fired the first shot at Mexico.
  • The Battle of Conception

    This was the battle that led the first casualty of the Texans in war. Which helped them realize to try and established San Antonio. This empowered the mission most known as the Alamo. This was between the Mexican army Colonel Domingo Ugartechea and many Texas Revolutionaries, James Fannin, and James Bowie.
  • The Siege of Bexar

    The Siege of Bexar is looked at in a way where it is the most extensive part and is a main part of the main triumph of Texas in San Jacinto. These 2 events were both very successful in the Texas Conflict. The whole battle of The Siege of Bexar was when besieged Mexican forces while in San Antonio de Bexar and later they seized the land.
  • The Battle of the Alamo

    The Battle of the Alamo is one of the most well known and significant battles. It served as a very mobilizing time, and was so memorable. It soon cause thousands of Texans to revolt against all of the Mexican officials, and they were siding with Sam Houston's cause. The Battle was between 189 Texas led by William Travis and more than 5,000 Mexicans, who's leader was Santa Anna.
  • The Battle of Coleto Creek

    The Battle of Coleto Creek made the Massacre of Goliad because of Fannin's surrender. This battle happened after Fannin decided to temporarily stop his army in their journey in an open prairie. This was soon encompassed by Mexican forces led by General Urrea. That's why the battle represented that even if most Texan forces were amateurs, they stood up for themselves and obeyed their leaders.
  • The Goliad Massacre

    The Goliad Massacre arose after the Battle of Coleto when the Mexican forces imprisoned Texan army in 3 different sections near Goliad, and discreetly opening fire on harmless Texans. As most were hit with bullets, others were soon stabbed to death. This gained support for Texans and continued to triumph at the Battle of San Jacinto where they earned the Republic of Texas.
