  • Battle of Gonzales

    The Battle of Gonzales was fought on October 2, 1835, near Gonzales, Texas. This was the first military engagement between the rebellious Texian settlers and a detachment of Mexican army troops (led by Colonel Domingo de Ugartechea). This impacted the Texas Revolution because it marked a clear break between the coloinsts and the Mexican government, starting the Texas Revolution.
  • Battle of Concepcion

    The Battle of Concepcion began on the morning of the 28th of October. The people involved are the Mexican army and Colonel James Bowie as well as Captain James W. Fannin. This impacted the Texas Revolution because it provided confidence to the Texans.
  • Siege of Bexar

    In 1835, the Siege of Bexar began in October and ended in December of 1835. The battle was between the new Texas Republican Army and the Mexican army led by General Cos. This impacted the revolution because the loss of the Mexican army inspired Santa Anna to teach the Texans a lesson.
  • Battle of the Alamo

    The Battle of the Alamo began on the 23d of February and lasted thirteen days. The battle was fought between Colonel Travis and his 189 men and General Santa Anna with 4000. Although the Texans had lost all 189 men, the phrase, "Remember the Alamo," inspired them, making an impact in the Texas Revolution.
  • Travis' Letter

    This letter was sent on February 24, 1836. The people involved include William B. Travis and his army and Santa Anna's army. This impacted the Texas Revolution because the letter stated the Travis would not give up, providing encouragment.
  • Goliad Massacre

    The Goliad Massacre on March 27, 1836. In this event, the Mexican Army, directed by Santa Anna, executed 342 unarmed Texan soldiers commanded by James Fannin. The event heavily impacted the Texas Revolution because it inspired the Texans to gain independence from Mexico.
