Davy Crockett Disney Song David Crockett, a.k.a. Davy Crockett, was born on this day. He is most known for his leadership at The Battle of the Alamo. Before, this, he was a political figure who became dilusional after losing an elction. He then decided to help Texas fight for its independence. -
Sam Housten is born
Sam Housten was born this day. He was the leader in the Texas Revolution, for the Texans' side. He was obviously a great leader to become the first president of the Republic of Texas. -
Stephen F. Austin is born
Srephen F. AUstin is the son of Moses Austin. He is known for letting over 300 American families migrate to Mexican territory. Again. this helps in the arrival and support for the Texans in the war. Resumed the colony his father started after his death. -
Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna is born
Santa Anna is the man Sam Housten was against. He had probably became a dictator of Mexico, and at a very young age. He was out for power, and sought to kill for it. And believe me, he tried. -

Land Grants Here!!!
Stephen F. Austin was important for the Americans. This grant allowed people from the U.S. to settle in Mexican territory. This was big for the Americans. However, Americans started to immigrate to these areas. -
STOP!!!
Mexico decides to outlaw the land grants for the Americans who decide to move there because they are not following the rules of living there. These rules are as follows: learn the Spanish language, become a Mexican citezen, obey the Mexican laws, and they had to convert to catholicism. -
Convention of 1832
The convention of 1832 was something Texas set up with Mexico. They had wanted to secede from Mexico. Mexico declined and another covention appeared a year later. The outcome was the same. -
New President for Mexico
Santa Anna becomes "president" of Mexico, however, he becomes more like a dictator. He had a tremendous amount of power since he was a war hero for the Mexicans. -

He was a representative in the Convention of 1833, and was arrested for unspecific charges. -
Battle of Gonzales
This is the war that oficially started the war for independece. Texans won the war and liberated the area from further conflict. It is kind of ironic that this battle started after a canon turned missing. -
Battle of Goliad
Mexico and Texas wage a war at the city of Goliad. This resulted in a win for the Texans. -
Battle of Concepcion
A suprising victory for Texas. They were outnumbered dramaticaly. (5 to 1) -
Texas declares independence
Texas did not really declare independence until now, but had already started the war. They have made a new decleration of independence. -
Battle of the Alamo
This is probably the most inspiring battle for the Texans despite their loss. "Remember the Alamo" is this chant and is used throughout the war. Davy Crockett was one of the leaders or figures admired in the battle. He died by the hands of the Mexicans. -
Goliad Massacre
Santa Anna ordered his troops to slay 400 surrendered Texans, no questions asked. This is probably the best example of how cruel Santa Anna is. This becomes a famous battle cry in the war as well. -
Battle of San Jacinto
This was the last battle that ensured victory for the Texans. Under Sam Housten, they charged Santa Anna and killed over half of the Mexican army in about eighteen minutes. Santa Anna surrenders and is captured. -
Santa Anna signs the Treaty
The treaty of Velasco is signed, but is it authentic? Santa Anna was forced to sign the treaty in return for his freedom. According to treaty rules, both sides have to agree on the treaty and actually regard to it. SInce Santa Anna was forced to sign the treaty, the war never really ended until after the Mexican-American War.
