  • Battle of Gonzales

    The first open fighting in the Texas Revolution, in which Texans successfully fought for their independence, took place on October 2, 1835, near Gonzales, Texas. It was fought over the possession of a single small cannon.
  • Battle of Goliad

    The Mexican army killed three-hundred Texans even after they had agreed to surrender.
  • Siege of Bexar

    After the Battle of Conception and the Grass Fight, the Texans attacked Bexar. The Siege of Bexar ended with the surrender of the Mexican general.
  • Convention of 1836

    The Convention of 1836 was the meeting of elected delegates in Washington-on-the-Brazos, Texas in March 1836.
  • Battle of the Alamo

    The Battle of the Alamo was a military engagement in the Texas Revolution. After a 13-day siege, Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna reclaimed the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar, killing most of the occupants.
  • The Battle of San Jacinto

    Texas' independence from Mexico was won at San Jacinto. The United States annexed Texas in 1845, which led to the Mexican-American War.
