Battle of the Alamo
After the gruesome 13 days, the Texans lost 189 men, while the Mexicans lost about 500. Many were inspired by the phrase "Remember the Alamo." In fact, more men volunteered to be a part of the Texan army. They would continue the fight for an independent Texas. -
Goliad Massacre
James Fannin's awful leadership skills soon lead to the Battle of Goliad. Fannin and General Urrea agreed on holding the Texans as prisoners, then giving them their freedom and property back. Urrea hoped to fulfill his promise, however, Santa Anna would have no part in it. All the Texans were killed, in what is known as the Goliad Massacre. Santa Anna was now seen as a cruel leader, and the US and Texans would not allow that. -
Battle of San Jacinto
This was the final battle of the Texas Revolution, Sam Houston led the Texans. Texas beat Santa Anna and won independence.
