    In late Oct 1835, The Texas army marched to San Antonio de Bexar. The headquarters of the Mexican army led by General Cos. Stephen Austin sent James Bowie To San Antonio. Fannin with ninety men Protected this town nearby. later, the main body of the Texas Republican Army arrived, The Mexican army was losing with 14 killed and 39 injured while Texas only had one dead. The Texas army kept San Antonio de Bexar under close watch over the next several months.

The night went by quietly and in the morning every object was obscured by dense fog, but at 8, o'clock one of the sentinels was fired upon the advance guard of the enemy By now it was battle and the retreat was impossible. By the 28th the enemy continued to fire, But if by magic the men at the cannons were shot down Mexico had to to retreat

The Mexicans wanted fewer Americans and more taxes, The Mexican government (Santa Anna) turned into a dictator and sent 500 men over to Texas the Mexicans lost but didn't give up as they went past the River Grande into shelter where the Texans stayed at the Texans knew they were out number but the Mexicans led an attack on them at 5 am calling it the mid attack Texas had a devastating lost

Soon the families knew about Santa Anna's coming they started to flee before Santa Anna could get to Gonzales. Sam Houston ordered the residents to flee before or at 11 pm people gathered their children and supplies they went east they were also ordered to burn their houses

    The Goliad massacre was on March 27th, 1836. There was a death of about 342 unarmed men from Texas. This started when a few men came from New Orleans to join the squad to help Texas. James Fannin was one of those people whom Santa Anna picked to execute Fannin was known to be weak Fannin was told to retreat but didn't listen and kept on going, Later there cart broke and the cannon was stuck the Mexicans came, and rushed, and surrounded the Texans the Mexicans killed them then burning there bodys
