    Battle of Gonzales
    The Mexicans wanted the Gonzales cannon. The Texians refused to give them the cannon. The flag was made out of a wedding dress with words saying,"Come and take it." There was a picture of a cannon and a star above the words. No one was killed in this battle. However, the Texians fired chains and scrap metal from the cannon to show their intent.

    The Texians were hoping Sant Ana wouldn't do anything until after the constitution was signed. The Texians were disappointed to learn of the Battle of the Alamo. The constitution was written by George C. Childers.

    Battle of the Alamo
    The battle only lasted 30 minutes. All the men in the Alamo were killed. William B. Travis was one of the first to die.
  • Goliad Massacre

    Goliad Massacre
    After Fanin's men surrendered to the Mexicans and were imprisoned, they were taken to a field and lead to believe they were going to be set free. However, all of Fanin's men were executed. Fanin was the only Texian left alive. The Mexicans then executed Fanin. He only asked for three things from the Mexicans before he died. The Mexicans did the opposite of what Fanin requested.
  • Battle of San Jacinto

    Battle of San Jacinto
    This battle only lasted 14 minutes. The Texians were victorious. The Texians launched a surprise attack on the Mexicans using the Twin Sister cannons. They waited for sunrise when the Mexicans were still asleep. They fired the Twin Sister cannons and as the Mexicans woke up, the sun was in their eyes. The Texians were shouting, "Remember the Alamo, Rember Goliad!" as they blew up the brigde.

    Treaties of Velasco
    The Texians captured all the surviving Mexicans from the Battle of San Jacinto. They didn't realize they had captured Santa Ana because he was dressed as a regular soldier. However, his troops began to shout, "El Presidente, El Presidente!". They were hoping he would save them. But he was forced to sign the treaty which gave the Texians their independence from Mexico.
