Austin Grant
Stephen F. Austin reicieved a grant to coloniliz in the region of the Brazos River. this grant was from the government. -
Mexican Independence
A contitution of Mexico in 1824 made mexico a republic . That ended up failing to define the rights of the republic, including Texas. -
Austin Inprisoned
the mexacans imprisoned him so the tension would grow between texas and start a war. Austins father settled 300 anglo american families in texas. -
Battle at Gonzales
The battle of gonzales was thought to be the first battle of the texas independence. The saying come and take it was put on to a flag showing the texans were willing to fight. This battle was fought between the texans led by John H. Moore and J.W.E. Wallace and the mexicans. This battle happended because the north of mexico wanted independence from the rest. at the end of the battle the texans won when the mexicans retreated south. -
Battle of Alamo
The Texans fought the Mexicans at the battle of the alamo under control of William B. Travis. Sadly the were overwelmeded by the Mexicans during the two-week siege. -
Runaway Scrape Begins
The Runaway Scrape started with the battle of the alamo and ended with the battle of san Jancinto. During this time the Mexicans were marching west from San Antonio. -
Massacre at Goliad
During the Massacre at Galiad James Fannin and nearly 400 Texans were killed under order of Santa Anna. -
Battle of San Jancinto
San Jancinto was the last battle of texas revolution. The Texans won the battle, got their independence, and captured Santa Ana the mexican general. This battle was said to be one of the most decisive battles in history. -
Texas joins the United States
Texas became the 28th state when U.S. president James Polk followed through on his campaign platform promising to make texas a state. -
Texas Secedes and Joins the Confederacy
Texas ended up seceding after a 171 to 6 vote by the Secession Convention. The governer sam houston was part of the 6 people voting against it. -
Battle of galveston- The Bayou City
The battle at galviston was a battle fought at one of the biggest seaports in the confederacy. Texas got back the island after the battle and held it for the remaining of the war.
