Cabeza de Vaca
Cabeza de Vaca shipwrecked on Galveston Island. After trading in the region for some six years, he later explored the Texas interior on his way to Mexico. -

Francisco Vasquez de Coronado was a treasure hunter in texas. He led an expedition to the fabled Seven Cities of Cibola to look for riches with about one thousand men from Mexico. They never found any fortunes. -

La Salle
Rene Robert Cavelier, Sieur de LaSalle wound his way in 1682 down the Mississippi, claiming the entire Mississippi watershed in the name of France. He went on an expedition but was killed by his own men. -

Austin Grant
Stephen F. Austin inherited a grant of land near the Brazos river region and there were many complications with the Mexican government. He also introduced a large number of colonists to the united states. He gave influence over the settlers in Anglo, Texas. -
Mexican Independence
For the Mexicans, to gain thier independence thier wrote The constitution of 1824 to give Mexico a republican form of government. It failed to write the rights of the states including Texas. -
Austin imprisoned
Stephen F. Austin was put in prison by Sant Ana, because the Anglo were growing in population and the Mexicans were making immmigration rules but Stephen always foud loopholes to get people. -
Battle at Gonzales
The Mexicans went to retrieve a cannon they gave to the residents of gonzales but the Texans fired the cannon and put up the flag "Come and take it" -
Battle of Alamo
The Texans lost this siege because they were greatly outnumbered from 189 soilders to 1600 soilders. Santa ana wanted San Antoinio back. -

Massacre at Goliad
In the battle of Refugio, the Texans surrurendered thinking that they would be sent home back to thier familes. The Mexicans took all the Texans back to Goliad where Santa ana ordered for them to all be shot, burned, then buried. -
Battle of San Jacinto
At the Battle of San Jacinto the Texans had thier victory by ambushing them and sending a spy, Deaf Smith, to cut of thier owlny escape. They even got 730 prisoners -
Texas joins the United States
James Polk, a U.S. president, signed a legislation that staetes that Texas is the twent-eight state of thUnited States. He signed it on 29 December 1845. -
Texas secedes and joins the Cofederacy
Texas secedes from the Union and joins the Confederacy. The voting was one hundred seventy-one to six and Sam Houston was one of those six people who voted against it. -
