Mexican troops caused Texan army to surrender in hopes that they would just be disarmed and expelled from Texas. However this was not the case and the Mexican army executed over 300 men months later.

It was the first battle between Texas and Mexico. This battle was fought 75 miles east of San Antonio. Mexican soldiers order the Texan rebels to surrender. However, the the rebels pointed a cannon at the Mexican army but they were not ready to attack. The rebels followed the Mexican army and drove them out of San Antonio resulting in their first victory.

The Alamo was where the Texan rebels took fort in a abandoned catholic mission. Here Santa Anna's army attacked the Texan rebels and defeated them. However, in result Santa Anna's army lost about 600 men.

This battle occurred along the San Jacinto River and lasted only 20 minutes but the killing lasted much longer. The Texan army attacked Santa Anna's forces killing hundreds and capturing 700 men, including Santa Anna. The Texans suffered little casualties and won he battle. Houston forced Santa Anna to have his troops leave Texas and sign the Treaty of Velasco. The Mexicans refused to sign the treaty but surrendered leaving the war at an end and the Texans victorious.

The new country was called the Republic of Texas. They elected their first president Sam Houston and stayed an independent country for about 9 years.
