    During the 15th and 16th centuries, Europe underwent a resurrection of classical art, literature and learning which was established as the Renaissance. Various people were ambitious to travel around the world throughout the Renaissance. Caption: The art shown is an example of the Renaissance influence. The Renaissance was an important event in our history.

    Christopher Columbus set sail
    To prove Europeans that the world was round, Christopher Columbus set sail with two ships, the Nina and the Pinta that was given from Queen Isabella. Caption: Christopher Columbus used his two ships the Nina(left) and the Pinta(right) to confirm many beliefs which in the end were false information proven by other explorers.

    Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian merchant, set up the first of two voyages to the New World. Vespucci concluded that the land previously found was not part of Asia. Couple of years later, the new continent was named "America" in Vespucci's credit. Caption: For many miles, Amerigo Vespucci traveled in these routes.

    Hernado Cortes was a distinguished conqueror who filed in Mexico with 600 men. Upon reaching his destination, he found the Aztec Empire in which he purged with his men. Caption: Portrait of Hernado Cortes, who also found enormous pyramids of the Aztec Empire's capital city, Tenochtitlan.

    The Great Awakening was a religious revitalization that held a strong effect on colonies and influenced slaves and even white colonists. This revival gave a new sense for people and created greater independence. Caption: Many preachers voiced out their religious beliefs and spreaded their message to their audience.

    England set up various acts to benefit from others. The two acts that stirred the colonists the most were the Quartering Act and the Stamp Act. Quartering Act: Colonial cities were forced to give shelter to royal troops including food, clothes, and other necessities Stamp Act: Colonists were required to purchase a revenue stamp(picture) each time they bought anything related to paper.

    As an act of boycott, umemployed laboreres assaulted the guard and soldiers of the Boston Customs House. In a result, five rioters were murdered and Patriots marked the event as a massacre to gain sympathy and empathy.     Many American colonists worked together to prevent King George lll's Tea Act which benefited the king to earn more money. As act of protests, it ranged from burning tea to throwing chests of tea in the shore. Caption: American colonists were undercover as Indians and sucessfully got on three tea ships, going through their protest.

    Considered as one of the most significant written document, it gave America a more stable independence.

    The Alien and Sedition Acts was a major political issue that occured in 1798. The Alien Act restricted foreigners in and the Sedition Act prevented freedom of speech and press. Congress placed these acts to parry the perceived anarchy of the Republicans but only fueled more fire.

    President Thomas Jefferson discovered that Spain gave Lousiana to France and he was worried that the land will prevent expansion and trade. Robert Livngston was sent by Jefferson to negotiate with France and was in luck to get the whole Lousiana.

    Lewis and Clark were sent on an exploration to the other side of the Rocky Mountains and map the west by President Thomas Jefferson. They went through harsh conditions to survive but they also were the first Americans to get to the Pacific Ocean through land.

They traveled by walking and covered wagons that carried all of their supplies. A large quantity of people died and Native Americans placed tolls along the way.($10 to cross land, $100 to cross on water)

    The start of the California Gold Rush began when the first gold was found. Alittle piece of gold was worth 2-months salary and the products and land values immensely increased. The Gold Rush lasted for 5 years and only 1 out of 100 found gold. In 1849, the Gold Rush Peak was established.
