The ICC Committee with the support of the National Committees developed the first six rules in 1923: FOB, FAS FOT, FOR, CIF, C & F, which were the forerunners of what would later be known as the Incoterms -
Foundation year
Were established in 1936 by the International Chamber of Commerce based in Paris. -
First review
Ten years later in 1946 the first technical revision was produced giving a new makeup version of the incoterms of 1936. -
INCOTERMS 1953
Incoterms of 1953 were discussed at the Vienna Congress, where the rules and conditions of: franco factory, franco wagon FAS, FOB, C & F, CIF or CAF were established. -
FOB annex
In 1976 an annex with the term FOB airport was added to define and regulate the increasing practice of the shipment of goods by air. -
FCA was introduced
1980-FCA was introduced in order to provide a rule to determine that the point of receipt in maritime trade was no longer the ship's border (the traditional FOB), but rather a point on land, storing the goods for later Transportation by sea or by the combination of various means of transport. -
Revision 1980
In 1980, a new revision of the texts was made, setting the regulated INCOTERMS in 14, the term FCR was later introduced, which later became FCA -
New digital communication.
1990 - clauses relating to the vendor's obligation to provide proof of delivery, allows paper to be replaced by EDI messages - provided the parties agree to communicate electronically. -
Classification of INCOTERMS 2000
