First Telescope Invention
Lippershey invented the first telescope. He was an eyeglass m aker that got interested in looking through multiple eyeglasses. He worked with a partner named Jansen. They aligned concave eyepiece with a convex objective lens. They didn't discover anything, but they discovered telescopes. -

Telescope Advances and Discoveries
-
Galileo's Discoveries
Galileo used two pieces of glass to be able to see into space and look further at the stars, than just a naked eye. He discovered the four moons that orbited jupiter. He also discovered that venus orbited the sun. -
Isaac Newtons Discoveries
Isaac Newton used curved mirrors to focus on images in space and expaned the view of the cosmos. His invention led to further telescope inventions. -
Herschelś Discoveries
Herchel used a larger version of Isaac Newton´s telescope. Using this telescope, he discovered Uranus and he believed that the Milky Way was the whole universe. -
Mount Wilson Observatory
The Mount Wilson Observatory contains the worlds biggest reflecting telescope. This observatory was built by George Hale. This telescope was used to discover more galaxies and that the universe was expanding, which led to the Big Band Theory. -
Edwin Hubble´s discovery
Edwin Hubble worked in the Mount Wilson Observatory, he discovered red shift, which led to the Big Band Theory. He also discovered the galaxy that will combine with the Milky Way eventually. -
Penzias and Wilson
Penzias and Wilson discovered Cosmic Background Radiation, which is evidence to the Big Bang Theory. They used the Holmdel Horn Antenna to discover this radiation spread out throughout space. -
Hubble Space Telescope
This telescope was launched into space on April 24th and was named after Edwin Hubble. It took pictures of neblui. -
Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe
The WMAP was launched into spave in 2001. The probe measured the differences of temperatures across the sky due to CBR. -
Kepler Telescope
The kepler Telescope waslaunched into space by NASA. The spacecraft was desogned to discover earth-like planets (terrestrial planets) orbiting other stars.
