    Wold Wide Web - 1991
    In 1991, a computer programmer in Switzerland named Tim Berners-Lee introduced the World Wide Web: an internet that was not simply a way to send files from one place to another but was itself a “web” of information that anyone on the Internet could retrieve. Berners-Lee created the Internet that we know today. By having access to one the most powerful sources of informaiton I feel empowered.      NCSA Mosaic - 1993
    The first web browser to display images inline with the document's text. Created at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) from a team effort that included software engineer Marc Andreessen. Prior to a web brower I had previously used DOS which was a black screen a green cursor and typed commands. My experience with a web brower was more of a amazing navigational experience.     In 1991 the digital answering was invented The owner can ring the number and, by entering a special code on the remote telephone's keypad, can listen to messages when away from home. Frist time experenicnng a digital answering machine is when I purchased a beeper and it had this service. As you teens we would use songs on the machine as our messages. It was fun times.     1996 launched of one of the first popular webmail email services called HoTMaiL developed by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith. I learned to set up an email in school had no not idean of the importance that it would provide in the furture. I shared my email address with friends and used it for different means of connecting with different platforms online and both group and one on one communication.     AOL was one of the early pioneers of the Internet in the mid-1990s, and the most recognized brand on the web in the United States. It originally provided a dial-up service to millions of Americans, as well as providing a web portal, e-mail, instant messaging and later a web browser. AOL was the first web portal, instant messenger, and web browers I ever used. It was exciting to commuicate with different people though the messenger groups.
