Carlile R. Stevensa and Dale E. Reamer invented the clapper. the clapper was released in 1985. Allowing a " hands-free" control over two appliances using sequences of claps. Plugged into one of the Clapper's two electrical outlets. Two claps, and you can turn on/off a lamp. Three claps, and you can switch on/off the TV.
