Adobe Photoshop
Thomas and John Knoll were brothers who both noticed the lack of photo-editing features on the computer so they decided to program there own. They began development during the 1980’s but it took the attention of the company Adobe and their investment to help the brothers in creating the first Photoshop 1.0, which was released on February 1990. -
Linux
With the idea of of developing a new operating system for his Intel PC, Linus Torvalds was in his second year at the University of Helsinki when he began developing the operating system called Linux. Torvalds didn’t know he’d be the creator of the biggest platforms for internet companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Twitter. -
Sony PlayStation
On 1994 the company Sony released the first Playstaton, The company was know for cameras, digital audio tapes, and the Walkman which was very popular. Once the PlayStation was released it skyrocketed in popularity and was considered Sony’s most important product since the walkman. The PlayStation was first released to Japan but due to the popularity it so came to the U.S. in September 1995 and became very successful. -
DVD
The DVD stands for Digital Video Disc The first DVD was created by a group of companies, Sony Corporation, Philips Electronic NV, Toshiba Corporation, and Time Warner Inc. It was first released in Japan on November 1st 1996. -
Google
Google was invented by two college students, the cofounders names are Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The two met at Standford University in 1995 and in 1996 they wrote a program for a search engine called “Blackrub” this became very popular and the two decided to name the search engine “Google.com” in 1997. They continued developing Google in their friends Garage Susan Wojcicki who is the director of YouTube now. In September 1998 Google was officially incorporated as a company.
