    ARCHIE The Search Engine
    First engine was created, named Archie. It's name stands for Archive. Created by Alan Emtage, Bil Heelan and J. Peter Deutsch. Archie made it possible to literally search the internet and opened doors to new search engines like Google and Yahoo!.

    Cambridge University scientists invented the first webcam. The students did not want to take the time to get up and check for coffee in the coffee pot. So, they found a way to keep an eye on the coffee from a whole different room! Later, in 1994, the first commercial webcam called QuickCam made it on the market. It was created by Connectix. It is now possible for us to communicate via video chat and the webcam changed the way businesses/schools communicate in an easier, flexible way.

    In 1996, with the help of inventors Jeff Hawkins, Donna Dubinsky, and Ed Colligan, we were able to experience the first Pilot Handheld. The personal assistant was capable of many things like: storing contact information, managing calendars, sending/receiving emails, and even opportunity to connect to a personal computer (PC).

    The DVD player, known as the "Digital Video Disc" or "Digital Versatile Disc", offered better picture quality than VHS. Dual lens pick-up allowed it to play music CDs as well. New settings that gave options of subtitles in many languages, TV format, and other functions on the screen. Also, offered capability of storing 133 min of picture and sound on a single side.
